What we are looking for in you

This new and exciting opportunity for a Reunification Worker is a fixed-term position for 18 months hosted by YMCA Dulverton Group, in collaboration with Somerset Council, as part of the innovative Staying Close programme.

The purpose of the role is to work intensively with young people, and their families to support a care plan of safe and sustainable reunification for children in local authority care. This role focuses on strengthening family relationships, reducing risks, and enabling children to return home where it is safe and in their best interest.

The Reunification Worker will deliver intensive, evidence-based interventions that promote family resilience, improve parenting capacity, and address issues that led to separation.

The position is based across the western area of Somerset with office based in Bridgwater or Taunton, however the role may require travel outside of these areas based on the needs of the client caseload.

If you embody these qualities, and are ready to embark on a journey of learning and enrichment, we welcome your application.

Interviews for this role will be hosted on the 24th, 27th or 28th November 2025.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people. We follow a safer recruitment process, all appointments are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and are required to provide two suitable references.
