What we are looking for in you

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and resilient person to join us as the Homeless Support Manager for our Homeless Outreach Support Team in North Somerset. You will be passionate about providing high quality support for individuals rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping and you will be keenly interested in those we work with and support, ensuring they receive the best possible service. This role also has oversight of a small supported housing project for those who have experienced rough sleepers (low support). You will be managing a small team and therefore need to have experience of line management.

This role involves working from our central office in Weston-Super-Mare, as well as remotely throughout North Somerset, overseeing and providing support services to individuals who, for various reasons, have become homeless. As a Team, we are passionate about ending homeless and ensuring that anyone who finds themselves street homeless is provided with a positive pathway away from the streets which is suited to their needs. You will work closely with North Somerset Council's Rough Sleeper Co-ordinator and other Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCSFE) sector organisations who provide support and guidance for those experiencing or at risk of rough sleeping throughout North Somerset.

We seeking someone who can use a range of range of tools and techniques for motivating and engaging communities who traditionally may find it tricky to work with services.

We believe that creating professional, positive and trusting relationships are key to working with every individual, in order to ensure they feel supported and achieve goals which matter to them. Often the individuals we work with and support are facing one of the most challenging period of their lives, and we are therefore seeing an individual who has the right values and approach to create a supportive environment. If you're ready to make a real positive impact, we look forward to receiving your application.

Whilst there are systems in place to support you, a substantial part of the role includes the ability to lone work. Therefore, we require someone competent and confident when working alone and somebody who is able to understand and work with complex and challenging behaviours, appropriately.

Due to the nature of the role there will be the need to work some early mornings as part of the Outreach service.

All appointments are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and we request that you provide two suitable references.
